Just a couple of weeks ago I was traveling through Thailand, enjoying tasty papaya salads, tropical temperatures and stunning nature. Even though this was my vacation, I could not overlook Thunderbird, an interesting hostel in the heart of Chiang Mai.
Why it so special you ask? The hostel has an interesting industrial interior, container style walls covered and brush lettering details. But here's where it gets interesting. Hanging from the top of a wide open area, measuring almost two stories high is the highlight of the hostel, the head of it's mascot: the Thunderbird.
The hostel highlights that what a synergy between architects and designers can look like, and it shows through the details, which perfectly blend the industrial style with a modern twist and illustration. The attention to detail is staggering and the handwritten signage system, various tropical plants and the open rooftop, with a view of the city, only add to the homey yet modern vibe. Here are some of the cool spots from the hostel.
