Vida Igličar - Premium notebook
Vida Igličar is a letterer and designer, based in Ljubljana(Slovenia). Her latest work at Pristop agency is this premium notebook for the two Slovenian breweries: Laško and Union, who recently joined the Heineken group. They decided to mark the occasion by designing a special notebook for the board committee.
The notebook is thematically divided into three parts, separated by pages with embossed beer elements: hops, barley and beer foam. Hops and barley were painted, hand-stamped, scanned and then vectorised to prepare for embossing.
The final touch that gives the notebook an additional handcrafted feeling are hand written past slogans of both breweries' campaigns.

What inspires you? / Where do you find inspiration for your projects?
I prefer the approach of not being in search of inspiration but rather let it hit me when it does. It might happen on a slow Saturday morning after the first coffee, when watering my plants. Or late in the evening when walking through the city centre with headphones in my ears. I’ve always been a bit of an introvert and letting myself get lost in thoughts, when being alone or not, is a good moment to get inspired too. -
Could you explain your usual design process?
My process usually shifts back and forth from being very organised to being lost and messy. When it is for a design or illustration based project, it starts with a research phase when everything is just in my head. Then comes sketching and writing ideas down. Hopefully at that time I find some potential that fuels me with the drive to create something new, something that is out of my comfort zone. Then the messiness comes and experimenting with different approaches to see what works best. Finally when I create something I feel passionate about, I try to push it further and work on the final outcome - Who are the designers and illustrators, you look up to?
For International Women’s Day I wrote down women who inspire me creatively. It varies from illustrators, photographers to designers. To name a few - Garance Dore, Veronique Vial, Babeth Lafon, Nika Zupanc, Belinda Love Lee.
