A night in Zürich
My first time in Zürich, my first time in Switzerland, but not my first time in '25hours Hotels'.
'25hours Hotels' is a fresh and dynamic hotel brand, which is famous for its crazy design concepts. Each hotel has its own unique style, with an individual and made to measure personality in lively locations. One of them is located in the astounding Museumsquartier in Vienna: here, a few years ago, I had my first unforgettable 25hours Hotels experience.
This time, traveling to Zurich, I didn't need to think twice where to spend the night. Right beside the central train station is another little 25hours Hotels universe, located at the junction between the lively Langstrasse and the ultra-modern Europaalle. Neon lights flicker above hip bars and restaurants, whose great interiors welcome crowds of young people having a fun night out. Oh yeah, I'm in Zurich and it's really beautiful.
When I travel I am keen to immerse myself in the local culture as much as possible, always with an eye on unusual and surprising design and art spots. The 25hours Hotels Zurich in Langstrasse combines all of this in a self-contained microcosm imagined by the designer Werner Aisslinger. Inspired by the contrasts between banking and the red-light district, between art and capitalism, the 25hours Hotel Langstrasse is an exclusive hotel experience that definitely topped my expectations and fullfilled my thirst for art and design.
When I arrived to the hotel I could not help but smile at every corner! The lobby is full of exhibited toys, and all kinds of bizarre props you can't just take your eyes off. The elevators combine mirrors and lights to create a bewildering effect that just cannot be put into words. And the room... simply breathtaking! A loft with a see-through shower (and bathroom) at the entrance, a white road-bike hanging on the wall (at your complete disposal to run around the city), a carpet with a trippy space print, and a huge bed with an amazing view on the shiny lights of Zurich's night. Simply stunning.
And the best part is the spa area on the top floor, with a gorgeous romantic rooftop. There's also a small fitness area with a sauna: just what I needed to relax and decompress after a long travel! In the morning I had a rich luxurious breakfast composed of all kinds of swiss delicacies and treats. Don't even get me started writing about all the cheese I ate there ;)
But unfortunately, when the morning shines, all dreams come to an end, and after a prince's night and king's breakfast I was headed to the swiss mountains. Thank you 25hours Langstrasse, it was a short but unforgettable stay! And, by the way, I really need to recommend it to all of you art and design lovers to try it out! I will return for sure when I travel to once again to Switzerland.
