Coffee with goldsmith and jewellery designer, Neža Žehelj
Instagram is such an amazing platform for discovering other designers’ work, and I have been following Neža for quite some time now.
She graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Italy. After that Neža practiced her skills under the goldsmith master, Christoph Steidl Porenta, for three years. Today, she lives and works as a freelancer in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Her atelier is in a creative district of Ljubljana in a building full of cool artists, designers, writers, and small start-ups called "Tobačna mesto," an old factory district. There, she has a lovely workspace where she creates. Neža is drawn to experiments as well. Many of her jewellery pieces are one of a kind handmade works.
Her work is mostly inspired by Bauhaus architecture and nature. Her pieces interpret lost and found stories conceptually plugged into released jewellery collections and one-of-a-kind wearable pieces of art.
